Howard is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Sheer Markets (Cyprus) Ltd.

Howard is a highly motivated, dynamic manager whose career spans 35-years and covers the management of multi-market trading intermediaries including US securities houses, FCM’s, boutique investment management / financial advisory firms, international banks and regulated online brokerage firms.

Complementing this extensive global financial market experience, Howard has achieved numerous academic accolades and enjoys several professional body memberships, including holding an MBA (Finance) distinction award through the University of Leicester, UK, and being appointed as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.Howard has also served as an expert witness in the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit, providing specialist opinion on currency derivatives transactions.

Howard started his career in the financial jurisdiction of Jersey, Channel Islands, and after working for several major banks in the treasury and trading departments, he relocated to Sydney Australia. Here he became the Chief FX Dealer firstly for the Dutch Bank ABN Amro, and then for the Swiss banking giant, Credit Suisse in Melbourne.

In the mid to late 1990’s Howard relocated to London, the world’s major Foreign Exchange and Eurodollar jurisdiction, where he became Global Head of Foreign Exchange for CL Rouse, the French derivatives arm of Credit Lyonnais. This tenure also involved a 2-year relocation to New York, where Howard became Director of Foreign Exchange Trading for Credit Lyonnais.

In 2001 Howard relocated back to London to join Prudential Bache, a division of Prudential Securities Inc where he was appointed as a member of the Executive Board, with the responsibility of managing Global Derivatives for the group in the UK and Europe regions.

In 2005, Howard relocated back to Australia and undertook a range of assignments before becoming a Shareholder and Executive director of an Investment Management Company in Jersey, offering a unique range of online trading products and services.

After owning and managing various licensed Financial Advisory businesses in Australia between 2011 and 2019, Howard has embarked on the latest challenge of his career, that of FinTech. Here Howard has most recently worked towards the successful setting up and licensing of a CySEC regulated Cyprus Investment Firm and online broker, Sheer Markets, licensed to carry out a range of services including Brokerage, Market-Making, Portfolio Management and Investment Advice.

Sheer Markets is to be launched during the first quarter of 2021 and will provide real-time streaming prices and liquidity through an online trading platform in some 1,500 instruments to retail and institutional clients.
